Glory knocked over by Mariners

Perth Glory have undone last week's good work being defeated by Central Coast Mariners 1-0 on Sunday.

Perth looked in form in last week's win over Melbourne City but were unable to get enough ball in their forward half to create scoring opportunities. 

The only goal coming with just 13 minutes left in the game from substitute Blake Powell. 

Glory coach Kenny Lowe put a positive spin on the result. 

“We weren’t disgraced here,” Lowe said. 

“First 20 minutes they were good value and probably controlled the game and then the last 25 we sussed it out and it was even."

“Second half we did quite well, took their sting away and started to get into it.”

Perth are back at home on Saturday night hosting Newcastle looking to improve their seventh place position on the A-League ladder.
