Paul McCartney mentions Mandurah and swimming with dolphins in recent interview

NIB Stadium was graced with a music legend over the weekend.

It seems like Sir Paul McCartney is a huge fan of Mandurah.

In an interview with Channel 9 ahead of his Perth One on One show on Saturday night at NIB Stadium, the Liverpudlian opened up about his younger years of travelling and performing with The Beatles and how in 1975 he came to Mandurah with his children to swim and apparently, serenade the dolphins. "When I was in Perth, we used to go down to Mandurah and swim down there, when the kids were little. And err, I remember swimming with dolphins down there and I thought, 'wait a minute, they're supposed to be very intelligent, so I've got to try and communicate with them.' So I started singing Strangers in the Night for no apparent reason."

He went on to say, "I just hoped the dolphins were Sinatra fans."

McCartney and his band played to a sold-out crowd, showcasing 40 songs in his set, including Beatles songs, hits from Wings and his solo material.

The 75-year-old rocker wowed the 23,000 fans who had flocked to see him and two fans in particular had their own special moment up on stage.

Martin from Perth used the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend of 10 years, Saya, alongside Paul McCartney, who even signed Saya's Beatle's jacket.

All in all... it was an epic concert!
