Wesfarmers CEO to take charge of the AFL

Wesfarmers CEO Richard Goyder will replace Mike Fitzpatrick as the Chairman of the AFL commission.

Goyder will take the reins from April 4 when Fitzpatrick steps down from the role after 10-years in the job.

“I take over as chairman with the competition in a very strong position, and I look forward to delivering for our fans, clubs, players and the community to grow and protect the game that so many Australian’s love.” Goyder said.

He will step down from his role at Wesfarmers in November after 12-years in the position.
