Voges calls time on international career

WA skipper Adam Voges has announced his retirement from international cricket.

Voges will lead the Prime Ministers XI against Sri Lanka on Wednesday and told reporters on Tuesday of his intentions.

“I’m certainly looking forward to getting out there and playing this game. I’ve had an amazing couple of years with Australia with the Test team and I’ve loved every minute of it.” Voges said.

The 37-year old lost his place in the Test team following a disastrous series against South Africa.

Voges will finish his career with a Test batting average of over 61.

The second highest Test average behind Don Bradman’s 99.94.
