Elderly man found safe and well after two days lost in bushland

An elderly man has been found safe and well after spending two days lost in remote bushland in West Pingelly in the State’s south-east.

There were serious concerns for his welfare as he suffers from asthma, is in the early stages of dementia and did not have any water or food with him.

The 75-year-old went hiking with family at Boyagin Rock on Wednesday afternoon when he decided to stay by the car because he needed a rest.

But when his family returned, the man had disappeared.

He was found early on Friday morning by SES volunteers.

It is understood he will be taken to hospital for a check-up.
